Actions with Impact in our Community

Here at Cladspray Solutions, we’re hugely proud of our status as a family business and are committed to giving back in our own community. There are several causes that lie close to our hearts, and it’s these causes that as a business we have been working hard to support over the last few years.

FRIEND IN DEED

Cladspray have been corporate sponsors of Friend in Deed since 2018. The charity does amazing work with local care homes and organises intergenerational projects to help enhance the lives of older people. Many of the care homes house people who live with dementia, which is especially close to home as director, Tom Carter’s Gran had Alzheimers’ disease before she passed away a few years ago.

COPING WITH COVID

Covid obviously hit every part of the community in devastating ways, but for our elderly population, the health risks elevated the already unavoidable loneliness many of the local care home residents feel every day. With this in mind, through the great work of Friend in Deed and their founder, Kelly Lindsay, we were able to support the charity by funding resources in 23 local care homes. Residents were treated to digital photo frames, headphones for listening to music and projectors for watching films. This is obviously a drop in the ocean compared to their ongoing needs, but we were delighted to be making a contribution in some way.

“Norma’s husband Victor very sadly passed away recently and the care home gave Norma the digital photo frame that had been donated. Norma was absolutely over the moon with it, as it meant she can have photos of her husband continuously in her room”

Supporting Youth Fitness

Getting young people active is not just about the physical benefits for us, as important as they are. We see how beneficial sport can be in terms of building social relationships, confidence and a positive influence on mental health too. As well as providing sponsorship to local youth football clubs for their kit, we have also taken part in money raising initiatives like the ‘Canaryball Rally’.

The Rally looked to raise funds for the Norwich City Community Sports Foundation, and Tom Carter is pictured here, involved participants driving from Norwich to Milan in return for sponsorship donations that totalled over £5000.  The funds being raised were used to help build The Nest, which is now established as a state-of-the-art sports facility outside Norwich.

HELPING NORWICH’S HOMELESS

Norwich Homeless Support work tirelessly throughout the year to give much needed care to Norwich’s homeless community.

Their 10-bed shelter provides nightly refuge for up to 10 individuals, providing shelter and a meal for those who are most in need.

As well as the shelter, their weekly lunch feeds and community food bank are an essential service for the people they serve in the area.

We were delighted to be able to support Norwich Homeless Support in a small way by making a donation before Christmas, and earlier in the year funding TVs for the beds in the shelter too.
