Why use epoxy floor coatings?
There are several potential problems with unfinished concrete or old failing coatings – many of these centre around dust. Dusty concrete and flaking paint can cause issues by getting into machinery and making stock look dirty. It can even impact on the health of staff as fine dust becomes airborne.
Epoxy floor coatings are usually packaged in two parts that are mixed prior to application. The two parts consist of an epoxy resin, and a co-reactant or hardener. When mixed together, they react to form a strong and durable plastic material. It’s so strong, it can be used in heavy traffic areas and industrial environments.
If your floor is in poor condition, or has a failing coating, we recommend we prepare the surface before applying the coating. We offer a range of services including shot blasting, vacuum blasting and diamond grinding to ensure the floor is prepared properly. This will ensure old coatings are removed and the floor has a uniform profile. Warranties are available on of our epoxy floor coating systems where surface preparation has been carried out, as we can ensure the best finish and durability.
Other floor coatings
As well as the epoxy floor coatings Cladspray can also apply moisture curing and polyurethane floor coatings. Although using a different chemistry to epoxy floor coatings, both can be a good alternative depending on environmental conditions and performance requirement of the coating.
Cladspray Solutions also have floor coating systems for low temperature environments. This means coatings can still be applied when the air temperature is as low as minus 10 degrees Celsius.
