INDUSTRIAL ROOF REPAIR
G’s Fresh Beetroot had a number of issues with their factory roof, so asked us to carry out a complete industrial roof repair and refurbishment. When they contacted us, they were concerned about a number of health and safety issues their factory roof was causing. This included water leaking into the working factory, extensive corrosion to the roof and leaking gutters. If left, these problems would only get worse and could mean a complete factory shutdown. It could also lead to the possibility of needing a complete roof and gutter replacement. This was a problem which needed to be addressed quickly.
THE PROBLEM
- Upon surveying the roof there were a number of significant problems.
- Extensive cut edge corrosion to all roof sheets
- Existing industrial roof coating was heavily de-laminating with extensive corrosion throughout
- Many of the roof sheet fixings had corroded and perished
- The gutters were in very poor condition, with several leaks and in need of immediate attention
NO DOWNTIME
G’s Fresh required their industrial roof to be repaired and refurbished, with absolutely no downtime. They also required a 10 year guarantee to cover all the works carried out. We worked closely with our preferred industrial roof coating manufacturer Rustoleum, and asked them to visit the site to survey the roof. One of their ICORR level 3 paint technicians came to survey the roof, then supplied us with a bespoke specification to carry out the work that would give a 10 year guarantee on the system.
THE SOLUTION
- Removal and treatment of the cut edge corrosion
- Removal and treatment the roof sheet corrosion
- Removal of all delaminating coating
- Cleaning and degreasing of the entire roof
- Replacement of all broken fixings
- Application of Rustoleum’s, elastomeric, anti-corrosive Noxyde industrial roof coating
- Installation of a new Plygene gutter lining system
All work was carried out in exact accordance to the bespoke specification supplied by Rustoleum. The work was also inspected throughout by one of their ICORR level 3 paint inspectors.
INDUSTRIAL ROOF COATING – CLASS 1 FIRE RATING
As part of G’s Fresh health & safety policy, they required a class 1 fire rating on the roof coating. To achieve this, we applied an additional coat of Rustoleum Pegacryl over the Noxyde. This was again applied in accordance with Rustoleum’s bespoke specification.
10 YEAR GUARANTEE
The end result was a complete industrial roof repair and gutter transformation, backed up by a 10 year guarantee.
