Tesco | Window Frame Spraying and Cladding Respray
DO YOU HAVE A PROJECT YOU’D LIKE TO DISCUSS? GET IN TOUCH
STORE EXTERIOR REFURBISHMENT
Tesco are in the process of rebranding all their stores in the UK from white to two-tone grey. This required preparation and coatings to the existing PVDF cladding panels, window frame spraying and door glazing framework, support columns, fascias / flashings and steelwork.
PREPARATION FOR RE-COATING
As with all our contracts, a large part of the project was in preparing the surfaces to optimise the finish. We had to be especially mindful that this was a store in almost constant operation, so our work had to reduce disruption to staff and customers to a minimum.
After each surface was pressure washed to remove all contamination and loose material, it also exposed some areas of corrosion or de-laminating existing coatings. We treated the areas of corrosion with grinders to and then primed the surface with Tor-Coatings anti-corrosive primer.
WINDOW FRAME SPRAYING
It is essential when carrying out coating of framework, like window frame spraying, that the risk of over-spraying onto the glazing is eliminated. With the extensive glazing at Tesco, we masked up and sheeted all the sensitive areas prior to coating.
A COATING TO LAST
After preparation was completed, it was time for the application of the new coating. We chose Tor’s Unicover S Coating System, which itself comes with a 10 year warranty, giving our clients peace of mind.
The application was carried out using a combination of airless and HVLP spraying techniques to ensure an excellent finish.

What our customers say…
Very pleased with the initial attendance by Dan Ruegg to discuss the project ahead of tendering. Response to queries and resolution of resolving a few issues was very positive. The site team were very polite and professional, would definitely use again.
We are so grateful to Cladspray for donating their services, entirely for free!
The Cost of Living crisis has meant so many more people are in need of our support. But before Winter, our charity hub in West Norwich, the Baseline Centre, was worn and uninviting and many local people simply wouldn’t have known what services were on offer there.
Now, thanks to the renovations made possible by Cladspray and a number of local grants, the Centre has been totally transformed. It is warm, welcoming and has new spaces for support work, groups, training, community meals and so on, and it is already a thriving hub of community activity!
